The Importance of Colour-Coding in Hygiene Practices
What is colour-coding, why is it important for hygiene standards and how you can implement it in your business.
Milestone Chemicals has championed environmental responsibility for over 25 years. Recognising our responsibility toward the environment, we created an on-site cleaning system at our manufacturing plant in West Heidelberg, VIC. Our drum recycling program helps reduce landfill waste and supports a circular economy.

We collect empty 15L drums during deliveries and return them to our Melbourne facility. Each drum undergoes a rigorous inspection process to ensure it meets our strict quality and safety standards. Only drums that pass these checks are cleaned and prepared for reuse in manufacturing. This ensures product integrity and customer safety. Drums that show signs of wear, damage, or have exceeded their reuse limit are responsibly recycled into new products, helping extend the lifecycle of raw materials and reduce landfill waste.

At Milestone Chemicals, we’re proud to support our customers in reducing environmental impact through practical, cost-free solutions. As part of our drum recycling program, we collect eligible empty drums (15L, 110L, 200L, and 1,000L) during deliveries at no extra charge. By working together, we help businesses embrace sustainable practices and contribute to a cleaner, more responsible future.
